How to install Antreno Theme

Staff member
Antreno is a child theme for the highly popular Genesis Framework from StudioPress (see my review of Genesis Framework here).

You can download, and find more details about Antreno theme and its features here.

It works with the self-hosted version of WordPress and it requires having Genesis Framework installed and active on your WordPress site.

Antreno theme can be installed just like any regular WordPress theme. The only difference is that will not work standalone, but only when the Genesis Framework is active.

To install Antreno child theme, follow the steps follow:

1. Download Antreno child theme
2. Buy Genesis Framework from StudioPress (if you haven't purchased it already)

Install Genesis and Antreno child theme following the instructions below.

After you have purchased Genesis, you should receive a .zip archive that contains the theme files.

Log in to your WordPress site admin dashboard ( and go to Appearance-->Themes.

In the top-left corner of the page, you should see an "Add New" button.

Next, click the "Browse" button and select Genesis ZIP archive from your computer.

After you select the theme, click on "Install Now".

It might take a few seconds until the Genesis Framework is uploaded. After the theme is successfully installed, click the "Activate" link.

When the theme has been successfully activated, you should see a "New theme activated" message.

Now, Genesis Framework should be active and at the top of every WordPress admin page, you should see the following warning from Genesis.

It's now the time to install Antreno.

To do that, just repeat the actions from the steps above, but instead of uploading the ZIP archive of Genesis, upload the Antreno child theme.

Activate the child theme and that's all.
